One of the biggest priorities for the chapter is supporting fellow Japantown and community organizations in an attempt to foster increased cooperation, communication, and goodwill. Recent community-building activities are highlighted below.
High School Interns Collaborate with Community Activists to Create a Transformative Experience in San Jose Japantown
Day of Remembrance Held By San Jose State Students. San Jose JACL’s former Congressman, Mike Honda, was a featured speaker.
The streets of San Jose Japantown rang with laughter, shouts and music. The 2019 Immersive event was themed: “bringing out the inner artist”.
We are excited to announce the first San Jose JACL Manzanar Pilgrimage. This will be a 3-day journey beginning on Friday morning, April 26, 2019 until the evening of Sunday April 28th.
