After decades of making New Year’s mochi in the Buddhist Church annex, due to renovation, Yu-Ai Kai this year moved its mochitsuki operation to Wesley United Methodist Church. The move was not exactly seamless according to long-time rice prep guru, David Okazaki, who said it took awhile to get the logistics worked out and the process working smoothly. Still, with the usual turn out of enthusiastic community volunteers, including your Chapter Co-Presidents, Tom Oshidari and Sharon Uyeda, Yu-Ai Kai had another successful mochitsuki!
