2019 T-Shirt Design Contest

CALLING ALL ARTISTS!

Here’s your chance to use talents to stand up against intolerance and bigotry in today's toxic political climate. Participate in our 2nd San Jose JACL T-Shirt Design Contest!

Contest Rules:

  • Design should reflect a message consistent with the San Jose JACL’s mission, with an emphasis on the Japanese American community’s response to recent injustices, such as family separations at the border and/or hate crimes against racial and religious minorities.

  • Design may NOT reference any political candidate or party.

  • Maximum of 2 ink colors.

  • The hashtag #NeverAgainIsNow must appear somewhere in the design.

  • The words “San Jose JACL” must appear somewhere in the design. If you choose, you may use our logo instead: Click here for EPS version or high resolution JPG version.

  • T-Shirt color should be specified. Click here for color selection.

  • Design can be front-only, or both front and back.

  • Maximum print area: 15 in x 21 in

  • Digital entries only. High-resolution images (300dpi) or vector images preferred (EPS, AI, PDF). All fonts should be outlined. Hand-drawn designs should be scanned and submitted with a transparent or white background.

  • All designs must be original and should not include any third-party logos or copyrighted material. By entering the competition, you agree that your submission is your own work.

Submit your design by 11:59pm Pacific Time on Wednesday, September 18th.

Voting will be held in-person at the San Jose JACL booth at the San Jose J-Town Artwalk on Friday, September 21st. You can also vote online at our Facebook Page.

Deadline for voting is 11:59pm Pacific Time on Friday, September 27th.

Winning artist will receive a $50 Amazon Gift Card and their winning design will be printed on t-shirts in October. We will have it for sale on our website, at the San Jose JACL office, and at upcoming events.
